“Music,”yeah so I’m going to do this over the next semester here at vista high school. I will type in this blog or post about my past experiences leading up to me being in band at VHS like how I can remember the first time I showed interest in learning music like playing an instrument. I believe that I was in the 6th grade (around 10 or 11 at the time) that I wanted to learn how to play not just mess around on an instrument and hope to make something catchy. In my middle school years I wanted to be in the band program that they had at Rancho Minerva middle school but due to some miscommunication I could not join until my 8th grade year. But when I did join I had a lot of fun playing on one of the keyboard instruments that they had but sometime in the middle of the year I switched over and started playing the snare drum.

 

When I started high school I immediately joined band because oh my experiences in 8th grade. I thought that I could go join their battery playing on snare but when I tried out I realize that it would not be right for me so I went to the next set of instruments that closely resembled the way snares played and by that time I already join “Pit”. (It’s the shortened name for the front ensemble.) Over the next three years I played a set of drums call timpanis,

then I played a metallic instrument call a vibraphone

for a year then played a xylophone

and then moved to one of the hardest to play instruments in Pit, the marimba.
